Why 3D detail changes the cost of a set
A flat design is painted. A 3D design is built: petals are sculpted in gel, cured, positioned, then sealed so the sculpture sits on the nail rather than beside it. That sequence is why a sculpted floral set costs more than a printed floral set at the same length — the labour is in the build, not the colour.
It is also why 3D sets photograph so well and why they are hard to buy blind. Weight, height and placement all change how the set wears.
What survives shipping and wear
Crystals and pearls are set in gel, not glued on top, so they do not shed in transit. Outer petal edges are the exposed part: we round them on request, which trades a little sharpness for durability. Each set ships in a rigid tray — a sculpted set crushed in a padded envelope is the most common cause of a damaged first order.

How long do 3D details survive wear?
Sculpted florals, pearls and crystals are set in gel and sealed, so they hold for the full wear cycle. The failure point is impact, not time — a hard knock can chip a petal edge, which is why we round outer petals on request.
Are 3D sets comfortable to wear?
They are heavier than flat sets. Placement matters more than weight: florals positioned on the nail bed rather than the free edge keep typing and phone use comfortable. We can shift placement per design.
Can you build a 3D design from my picture?
Yes. Send the reference and we map the sculpt into our own mould-and-gel process, then sample it before production. Complex sculpts may need one revision round.
What is the minimum for a custom 3D design?
It depends on sculpt complexity and how many sizes the design runs across. Mixed orders let you spread the minimum across several designs — ask for the split in your quote.
